Join us for a morning hike in Lamoille Canyon on the Talbot Trail (also known as the East Powerhouse Trail) as we take in the beauty of the fall season. Along the trail, we will reflect on gratitude through Native perspectives by sharing the story Giving Thanks. Experience the colors of autumn, connect with nature, and enjoy a meaningful morning of walking, learning and appreciation.
Meetup will be at the Talbot trailhead at 10 a.m. There is parking directly across the road from the trailhead. Distance will be dependent on weather conditions. The first mile consists mostly of switchbacks and is an elevation gain of about 400 feet.
Hikers should wear closed-toe shoes with ankle support and pay attention to weather forecasts for the lower canyon area and dress accordingly. Temperatures in the canyon can be 10 to 15 degrees colder than in Elko. Please bring snacks or a lunch and plenty of water.
The hike starts at an elevation of about 6,300 feet.
