Authentic's future could include rematch against Tiz the Law

Jockey John Velazquez riding Authentic, wins the 146th running of the Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs, Saturday, Sept. 5, 2020, in Louisville, Ky.

Authentic kicked away from heavy favorite Tiz the Law in the stretch on Saturday, winning the 146th Kentucky Derby without the usual crowd of 150,000 on hand at Churchill Downs for the first time because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Without fashionably dressed fans sipping mint juleps and waiting in line at the betting windows, this Derby was unlike any other.

America's longest continuously held sports event is known as much for its fan festivities as the horses. Below, look back at last year's event, and derby hats through the years.
