SILVERTON — The Corvallis High boys basketball team fell short of a season sweep of Silverton as the Foxes dealt the Spartans a 65-50 loss in the Mid-Willamette Conference game.
Silverton (13-1) clinches a second straight MWC title. Corvallis falls to 10-4.
Silverton forced 17 turnovers in first half en route to a 33-20 lead and the Spartans could not recover.
Isaac Gabriel led CHS with 13 points. Jasper Reinalda added 11 points and two blocks and Sebbie Law had eight points.
North Salem 65, West Albany 57
North Salem snapped West Albany's three-game winning streak with the Mid-Willamette Conference victory at West.
The teams thus split the season series. West won the previous matchup 52-39 at North Salem back on Jan. 11.
TJ Zimmerman paced the Bulldogs with 16 points. Koby Ruiz joined him in double figures with 13; Austin Stanaway added nine.
The Bulldogs (9-13, 7-7) host Lebanon on Friday in their next MWC game.
Crescent Valley 56, South Albany 36
The Raiders broke loose for the biggest Mid-Willamette Conference win of the season by topping the Rebels at CV. The win avenged an 11-point loss to the Rebels at South on Jan. 11.
CV (9-11, 7-6) visits Dallas and South (16-5, 8-5) travels to Central on Friday in each team's next MWC game.
Central 66, Lebanon 54
LEBANON — The Warriors lost their 12th straight game by falling to Central in a Mid-Willamette Conference contest at LHS.
Lebanon (3-16, 0-13) will seek its first MWC win at West Albany on Friday in its next start.
Cascade 63, Sweet Home 61 (OT)
TURNER — Cascade edged Sweet Home 63-61 in an overtime Oregon West Conference game at CHS.
The Huskies (13-9, 2-8) play at Sisters on Friday in their next OWC game.
Jefferson 47, East Linn Christian 38
JEFFERSON — Jefferson won the Central Valley Conference league playoff game. The next game for the Lions (15-8) is to be determined; ECL (12-13) concluded its season.
INDEPENDENCE — Lebanon High remained one-half game ahead of Silverton in the Mid-Willamette Conference title race by topping Central 40-34 at CHS.
It was the 11th consecutive win for the Warriors (17-3, 12-1). They resume MWC play by hosting West Albany on Friday.
Silverton 43, Corvallis 33
SILVERTON — Second-place Silverton held off Corvallis in the Mid-Willamette Conference game at SHS.
The Spartans (12-9, 9-5) play a nonleague game at Churchill on Friday. Their next league game is Feb. 19 at Central.
Crescent Valley 48, South Albany 27
The Raiders moved into third place in the Mid-Willamette Conference by topping the RedHawks at South.
CV (13-7, 9-4) hosts Dallas and South Albany (5-17, 0-13) plays at Central on Friday in each team's next MWC game.
West Albany 43, North Salem 35
SALEM — West Albany moved to .500 on the season by topping the Vikings in a Mid-Willamette Conference game at NSHS.
West (11-11, 6-8) plays at Lebanon on Friday in its penultimate MWC game of the season.
Cascade 51, Sweet Home 18
TURNER — Cascade handed Sweet Home its 15th loss in a row in the Oregon West Conference matchup. The Huskies (1-20, 0-10) resume OWC action at Sisters on Friday.
