West Albany girls basketball: Bulldogs overwhelm Sandy, 70-28

The West Albany High girls basketball team punished Sandy on Wednesday night, cruising to a 70-28 win.

The Bulldogs featured good balance with 11 players scoring. 

Maddy Rice led the way with nine points, Danae Greig had eight, and Ellie Babbitt and Elena Meza Wynkoop seven apiece. Six other players scored six each.

West coach Shawn Stinson was pleased with his team's effort, calling it "a big win" and payback for last season.

The Bulldogs (3-1) will host Summit in a nonleague game on Tuesday.

The Pioneers (2-3) travel to Barlow on Saturday.
