TEMPE, Ariz. - For the second straight night, the Oregon State softball team was unable to score.

After being blanked 1-0 on Friday night, the Beavers dropped a 3-0 Pacific-10 Conference decision to top-ranked Arizona State on Saturday night.

The Beavers fall to 1-13 in the conference, while ASU (11-3) remains two games in front of California for the top spot in the Pac-10.

ASU scored a run in the bottom of the first on a bases-loaded sacrifice fly.

The Sun Devils put two more across in the fifth as Kristin Donnenworth drove in both runs with a bases-loaded single.

That was all Mackenzie Popescue would need as she went 52/3 scoreless innings.

Dallas Escobedo picked up the save for the Sun Devils.

Tina Andreana gave up five hits in five innings for the Beavers.

Lea Cavestany and Ally Kutz had OSU's two hits.

The teams wrap up the series at noon today.
