There was a time when children/teens/adults who mutilated cats/dogs/critters were determined to be psychologically impaired and deviant in their behavior. No more.
Nationally we see the "pro-death" Democrats continuing to advocate for child executions up to the time when the last toe clears the mother's body. Then want/demand taxpayers pay the bill.
We have scores of Christian churches in the area who will not even discuss the issue from the pulpit; so ignore the issue. A person's political party affiliation is a public record. I ask the leaders of Christian congregations to address this pro-death culture by removing from membership all persons who are registered members of the Democratic party. Oregon is one of the least "churched" states in the nation and it shows in the prevailing political governance structure.
To be an effective force against the pro-death culture, the Church must judge itself and admit there is sin in the camp.
Biblical references: "For the time is come that judgement must begin at the house of God" (1 Peter 4:17); "The house of God is the Church" (1 Tim 3:15, 1 Cor 3:16, 1 Peter 2:5); and "the judgement must begin at the sanctuary" (Ezek 9:6).
