It is baffling to see so much confusion about the Mueller report, formally titled "Report on the Investigation into Russian Interference in the 2016 Presidential Election." This is the official report documenting the findings and conclusions of Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into Russian efforts to interfere in the 2016 United States presidential election and to examine any coordination between Donald Trump's presidential campaign and Russia.
The report is not "a bunch of lies." It in fact does conclude, with a great amount of evidence, that Russia did meddle in the 2016 election. The report has evidence linking Trump campaign officials to individuals with ties to the Russian government. We ought to be thankful as a country that there were people with enough tenacity to not drop this ball. Russia interfered with our presidential election! The Mueller team did not charge Trump because they abided by an Office of Legal Counsel (OLC) opinion that a sitting president cannot stand trial, in spite if evidence that does not completely exonerate this president.
Marc Thiessen (Opinion, May 8) states that Trump "lashed out with justifiable anger" at being accused of colluding with Russia. Yet, there was very good reason to have that suspicion, and that reason exists still. This is not a Democrat/Republican issue. This is a serious international issue and one we all ought to thankful is still being examined.
Study the Mueller report please, before assuming the innocence of this administration.
