Anyone who listened to Trump’s Q&A with the press during his cabinet meeting (Jan. 2) has got to question the man’s fitness for office. He not only misstated the facts on the ground in Afghanistan and the cost of that conflict but questioned the competence of the general officers of the armed forces. Suggesting that he might have been a “great general” is laughable on its face and insulting to the men and women of this country who chose to pursue an opportunity to service regardless of an otherwise disqualifying factor.
Claiming that the cost of a minuscule wage increase for federal employees is not merited and too expensive is ridiculous in the face of the expense of his numerous trips to his private resorts on the taxpayer’s dime. Claiming, without any proof, that the rank and file of federal employees is behind his shutdown is only food to his base. Please, let us just get back to the real world where a reality TV personality gets to play “President for a Day” and then goes away for some all-expense paid vacation in Bora-Bora.
Only, in this case, let’s make sure his passport is stamped “no return.”
