It should be obvious to all except the most fervent loyalists, that this regime has repeatedly lied to the public.
Robert Mueller made abundantly clear that officials of the Russian government interfered in the 2016 presidential election with the sole purpose of hurting Hilary Clinton and aiding Donald Trump. He found several instances in which the Russians offered, and members of the Trump campaign accepted, this assistance. The report makes clear that the lack of evidence of criminal conspiracy was partly due to “insufficient” information from Mr. Trump and a result of obfuscation and lying by many who were questioned concerning the campaign’s involvement.
But most damning, as Mr. Mueller made clear on May 29, is his statement that he did not issue an indictment for obstruction of justice based despite clear evidence from 11 incidents of such by the president because of a Department of Justice policy that alleges that a sitting president cannot be indicted. This contradicts the statement from Attorney General William Barr and makes clear that Barr’s role is to protect and defend Mr. Trump, rather that representing the American people, and lays bare Mr. Barr’s motivation for initiating an investigation into those who participated in Mr. Mueller’s efforts.
Although the president stated that he doesn’t do cover-ups, it’s increasingly obvious to anyone willing to read the special counsel's report and heed Mr. Mueller’s words, that that is exactly what Mr. Trump and is cronies are foisting on the American public.
