In an interview yesterday (March 3) John Bolton described the last ISIS stronghold in Syria as an “insignificant” piece of territory.
That is a pretty arrogant comment coming from someone who has never been asked to take or defend an insignificant piece of terrain. A lot of Americans died taking and defending what technocrats like Bolton will never understand. As a retired Marine, places like C2, Con Thien, Khe Sanh, and the Rockpile bring back memories of insignificant terrain. I’m sure other veterans can name a lot more.
People like Bolton need to think before they speak about issues of which they have no firsthand experience. Doing otherwise only cheapens the sacrifice of those who actually did risk something over an insignificant dot on a map.
