As the partial government shutdown continues, with no end in sight, there is a way stop it. All it takes is veto proof votes in the House and Senate. The biggest obstacle to that event is Mitch McConnell. Despite having the rug pulled out from under him less than month ago by President Trump, he continues to provide Trump with cover and support. One has to wonder why anyone would show such loyalty to someone who doesn’t understand the meaning of the word.
So, how will it end? The answer is grassroots pressure, constituents calling their representatives. Everett Dirksen once famously said, “When I feel the heat, I see the light.”
