Oregon has an opportunity to pass a Clean Energy Jobs Bill during this session of the Legislature. It is a necessary and important piece of legislation that will help reduce our consumption of fossil fuels and thereby at least slow down climate change. We're facing dire consequences unless we act now.
Sadly, Rep. Shelly Boshart Davis spoke on the House floor in opposition to the bill. She is mistaken in that opposition and hopefully will learn more about how serious our global warming problem is.
The polar express that the Midwest suffered from during the end of January was caused by climate change's extreme weather. The devastating conflagrations in California last year are also a result of global warming.
I hope the Clean Energy Jobs Bill passes the Legislature and become law this year, in spite of Rep. Boshart Davis' intransigence.
