To really understand the magnificence of the Constitution, there are two books that should be read. "A Place Called Freedom," by Ken Follett, and perhaps the best book I have ever read, "A World Lit Only By Fire," by William Manchester.
Both books are set in Europe and show how life was prior to the U.S. and how the Magna Carta changed the U.K. and how the Constitution changed the rest of the world.
Our freedoms and laws are a light to the world, although much of it is ignored by the world, which is why everyone wants in here. Unfortunately, Oregon benignly ignores Article XIV that says, "no state shall deprive any person of life, liberty, or property..." Although I have title to my 5 acres I rent my property from the state. Rent? It's called tax, which is rent by another name.
The Constitution is merely a piece of paper, but the Founding Fathers produced the instrument that changed the whole world and relations between races and sexes. And Hussein Obama thought he was smarter than they! What vanity!
Some want to say this is a living document to change with changing times. Not even! Love it and live it!
