Mailbag: Carnegie Library must remain open

In 1898, a group of women created lending libraries in their own homes in Albany. They also applied for a grant from the Carnegie Foundation to build a public library in the city of Albany.

It would be unthinkable to designate this beautiful and historic building to any purpose other than the one for which it was originally intended.
