So, now the White House wants to break hard on press passes in order to try to further control the media. Well, guess what. It doesn’t matter. I do not know why the mainstream media outlets continue to show up for press briefings anyway. Firstly, they are now rare occurrences; secondly, they are filled with disinformation and diversions; and lastly, everybody knows it. Anyone who depends upon the Trump spin machine for insights into relevant governmental actions is totally missing the boat. In fact, they aren’t even on the right pier.

It is not unusual for an administration to use the press briefing to put a friendly spin on issues. Most competent reporters know that and they know how to work through the weeds to find the ripe fruit. What is wrong with the current administration is that the weeds are taller and thicker and the fruit is rotten. Why not turn the briefing room into an internet café and limit access to FOX news.
