BENTON COUNTY SHERIFF
Meth — 6:30 p.m. Dec. 29, milepost 3, Greenberry Road. A canine unit reportedly alerted to a vehicle during a traffic stop. Deputies reportedly found a pipe with crystalline residue in the vehicle and arrested Joseph Allen Reilly-Chase, 32, of Eugene, for a charge of unlawful possession of methamphetamine.
Mail theft — Wednesday, 200 block Northwest 11th Street. An officer arrested Jeris Joan Wall, 40, of Corvallis, for a charge of mail theft after she was reportedly identified in security footage of a package theft on Monday.
LINN COUNTY SHERIFF
Overweight truck — 7 a.m. Wednesday, 24000 block Brush Creek Road, Sweet Home. A driver admitted a tractor-trailer was about 105,000 pounds, more than the permitted 96,000-pound weight. After a warning, the driver agreed to get a permit through Linn County.
Missing money — 10:22 a.m. Wednesday, 41000 block North River Drive, Sweet Home. A juvenile was taken into custody for allegedly stealing money from a house member as well as possession of marijuana and tobacco.
Wire theft — About 1:37 a.m. Thursday, the theft of copper wire from cell towers on Washburn Heights near Brownsville was reported.
SWEET HOME POLICE
Out of control — 11:14 a.m. Wednesday, 5000 block Quince St. A 13-year-old was taken into custody by the Department of Human Services after allegedly attacking his grandmother. He was cited for third-degree criminal mischief, third-degree escape and harassment.
