BENTON COUNTY SHERIFF
DUII — midnight, Monday, Southwest Prairie Road and Southeast Third Street. A deputy arrested William Robert Andrew Johnson, 26, of Yachats, for charges of DUII, unlawful possession of methamphetamine, unlawful possession of heroin and outstanding warrants.
Burglary — 1 p.m. Thursday, 2000 block of Northwest Aspen Street. A man reported an unknown person stole approximately $1,000 of cash and jewelry from his residence.
Blackmail — 3:17 p.m. Thursday, 1000 block Northwest Dixon Street. A man reported he was blackmailed by a woman he met online and had an intimate video chat with. She demanded money and threatened to release a video of the chat. He reported sending her more than $800.
LINN COUNTY SHERIFF
Warrant arrest — About 7:46 a.m. Thursday, Bryon Leis was arrested while driving a loaded log truck and bypassing scales on Highway 226. He was lodged at the Linn County Jail on outstanding warrants and a new charge of possession of methamphetamine.
Damaged mailbox — 8:38 a.m. Thursday, 38000 block North Main St., Scio. A caller reported that an Amazon delivery driver’s vehicle struck a mailbox and a light pole, and failed to stop. Damages were estimated at $3,000, and the event was caught on video.
Stolen motorcycle — 8:50 a.m. Thursday, 1100 block Jackson St., Albany. A caller reported a motorcycle theft.
School lockdown — 11:50 a.m. Thursday, Lacomb Elementary School. The school was placed on lockdown after staff heard gunshots from neighboring properties. Deputies checked and found two duck hunters.
Stolen SUV — 12:12 p.m. Thursday, 100 block Monroe St., Harrisburg. A caller reported the theft of a Ford Freestyle SUV.
Stolen fuel — About 12:35 p.m. Thursday, someone damaged an Upward Bound van's fuel tank and took 15 gallons of fuel. Loss: $350.
Missing cellphone — 7:44 p.m. Thursday, 1800 block 14th Ave., Albany. A caller reported the theft of a cellphone valued at $550.
