With snow accumulations of up to 2 inches possible in the mid-valley, the National Weather Services's winter weather advisory remains in effect until 7 p.m. Saturday.

In a statement issued at 6:14 a.m. Saturday, the Weather Service's Portland office said that the snow could create slippery road conditions throughout the area. Drivers should expect snow-covered roads and limited visibility in places, and should use caution, forecasters said.

A winter weather advisory for snow is issued when forecasters believe periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties.
