Sportsman’s Warehouse will host a Grand Opening at its new Albany store this Saturday, Aug. 15. The store has been open for several days but Saturday’s event will include special activities and prizes.
Located in the Albany Plaza at 1351 Waverly Drive S.E., Sportsman’s Warehouse is at the old Aaron’s Furniture location. Aaron’s moved several doors down to help make way for the sporting goods store. In addition, the old building that once housed the Corner Pocket near Waverly was demolished to make the site more visible from the street and also to add parking spaces.
For Saturday's event, doors open at 9 a.m., and the first 300 families through the door will receive a Sportsman’s Warehouse $20 gift certificate. There also will be a drawing for four $500 gift cards for the store.
Other activities include the HPR Jeep, which will be on display, a grilling demonstration by Masterbuilt, and product instruction from several factory representatives, who will offer additional giveaways to those attending.
Numerous sales will be available for customers, and commemorative t-shirts will be on sale.
The store features brand-name hunting, fishing, camping and shooting merchandise and additional outdoor items. It will offer instruction, seminars and other events related to outdoor activities throughout the year.
Store hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. Brett Larson is the manager at the Albany store.
Sportsman’s Warehouse has more than 60 stores in 19 states and is based in Midvale, Utah. The company announced in January that it would open the Albany store this summer. It is the seventh Sportsman’s Warehouse to be built in the Oregon.
