From Monday afternoon:

Sex abuse — Leslie Paul Norman, 29, of Lebanon, was charged with two counts of first-degree sexual abuse. The crimes allegedly occurred between Jan. 1 and July 31, and the victim was a girl under 14 years old according to the charging document.

Burglary — Juan Fidencio Gallegos, 45, of Stanfield, was charged with first-degree burglary. The crime allegedly occurred in the 35400 block of Pioneer Lane in Scio on Friday.

Identity theft — Becky Renee Whitlock, 42, of Albany, was charged with identity theft and second-degree theft. The crimes allegedly occurred on July 24, 2015. In a separate case, Whitlock also was charged with three counts of failure to appear dating back to December 2016.

Vehicle theft — Bryce William McGowan, 33, of Sweet Home, was charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle and failure to appear. The vehicle in question, a trailer, was allegedly stolen on May 15.


Pickup theft — 7:26 a.m. Sunday, 1000 block S. Ninth Street, near Lebanon. A pewter-colored 2003 GMC pickup was stolen out of a driveway sometime in the previous night. The keys were inside the rig.

Downed power line — 2:15 p.m. Sunday, 34400 block Fry Road, near Albany. A large tree fell, took down power lines and blocked the entire roadway. The property owner had a large chainsaw and forklift and was able to clear the roadway himself.


Marijuana theft — 9:35 a.m. Friday, 300 block Park Street. Four marijuana plants were stolen during the night off a front porch sometime during the previous night.

Church shed burglary — 7:51 a.m. Sunday, Valley Life Church, 80 E. Vine St. A shed was broken into at the property sometime in the last week and a leaf blower and two small gas cans were taken. The value of the equipment was about $350. There was about $200 in damage to the shed.
