The Greater Albany Rotary Club has named Patrick Mickelberry as president-elect for the 2013-2014 Rotary Year.
Mickelberry joined Rotary to join his father in his endeavors to comply with the Rotary motto of service above self. He knew he was able to volunteer on a variety of local projects and for larger international activities.
He had participated in a few of those as a non-Rotarian, and had reached an age in his mid-30s where he was looking for an environment where he could lend a hand and contribute to the greater good.
He wanted to be president of the club after taking a District Leadership Academy course sponsored and taught by Rotarians in the 5110 Rotary district. In his view, the presidency is another way to contribute to serving the club.
He will take over the presidency in June 2013.
