Richard “Rick” L. Crandall, 86, of Albany died Sunday in Tangent.
Rick was born April 20, 1930, in Lebanon, the son of George and Beatrice (Barnett) Crandall. He was raised in Lebanon and graduated from Lebanon High School. Following graduation he entered the Air Force and served through the Korean and Vietnam wars. He was discharged on August 1, 1969, and returned to Lebanon.
Rick married W. Marjorie Hudson on Dec. 31, 1969, in Lebanon. They moved to Albany in 1975, where Rick worked for ATI Wah Chang until his retirement. Marjorie preceded him in death on Oct. 4, 2013.
Rick was a member of the American Legion Post 10 and the Air Force Sergeants Association. He enjoyed his CB radio and was an avid car buff.
He is survived by his children, Rick Crandall of Chatsworth, California, and Christie Curtis of Canoga Park, California; stepchildren Vicki Biggs of Albany, Valeri Kersey of Sandy and Randy Palmer of California; sister Shirley Bicket of Beavercreek; 15 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Tina; and brothers George and Robert.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2017, at Huston-Jost Funeral Home.
