Mervin R. "Bud" Greenman, 92, formerly of Lebanon died Saturday in Eugene.
Bud was born in De Smet, S.D., the son of Harry and Clara (Page) Greenman. He resided in South Dakota until moving to Lebanon in 1936. Bud served in the Navy from 1944 to 1946 during World War II. He returned to Lebanon following his discharge and married Lorraine Loeschen on June 25, 1948, in Lebanon. They moved to Reno in 1954 and settled in Eugene in 1961, residing there since that time. Lorraine preceded him in death on May 26, 2010.
Bud had worked as a carpenter all of his life until his retirement in 1981. He was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church in Eugene, the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America Local 1273, and past member of the Springfield Elks Lodge. He enjoyed snowbirding, fishing and working in his carpenters shop.
Bud is survived by his daughters, Sharon Pride of Hemet, Calif., and Colleen Greenman of Bend; son Larry Greenman of Walton; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by sisters Hazel Bottcher and Francis Thill.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 30, at the Lebanon IOOF Cemetery. A memorial service will be held later. Huston-Jost Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
