Marian Ilene Dixon, 84, of Lebanon passed away Saturday at the Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center.
She was born in Albany to Chester and Lillian (Urhammer) Anderson.
Marian lived in the Los Angeles area until returning to Oregon in 1943. She graduated from Albany Union High School and then attended beauty college in Salem. She worked as a beautician in Albany with her mother and aunt for a short time.
Marian married Arthur Dixon on Jan. 30, 1948, in Albany. They moved to Eugene in 1957 where they raised their two children. She worked as a volunteer at Malabon Elementary School in Eugene and later became the school secretary, retiring in 1981. Marian and Arthur then moved to Chiloquin, where they lived until moving to Lebanon in 1993. They loved spending time fishing together on the Alsea River for many years.
Marian enjoyed all kinds of arts and crafts, especially painting and quilting. She and Arthur attended the Waterloo Chapel.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Arthur Dixon of Lebanon; daughter Karen Eckert and husband Robert of La Selva Beach, Calif.; son Bob Dixon and wife Jane of Cottage Grove; grandsons Yale and Clark Eckert, and Ryan and Cameron Dixon; and great-granddaughter Stella Lilly Eckert.
Marian was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Galvin; and her parents.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 21, at Waterloo Chapel.
