Jerry Andrus, 89, of Albany died Aug. 26 of cancer.
Jerry was born in Sheridan, Wyo.
He served in the Army during World War II.
Jerry gained international fame as an inventor of magic and as a close-up magician. The Society of American Magicians presented Jerry with a life-time achievement award in 2007.
He founded Eugene magic group, the Mysticians, in 1962. He was a member of the Society of American Magicians, International Brotherhood of Magicians, the Magic Castle in Hollywood, Calif., Corvallis Secular Society, Oregonians for Rationality and Albany Writer's Network.
Brother George Andrus of Albany survives him.
A memorial service will be Sept. 30 in Albany.
