Jim Lamp was born in Portland, Oregon to Rolland and Alice (Workinger) Lamp. He moved to the homestead in Shedd at the age of 2. Jim went to Central Linn High School, graduating in 1962 and was a member of FFA.

He graduated from Eugene Technical School as a machinist prior to joining the Navy in 1965. Jim was active duty on the USS Epping Forest in Vietnam from 1965 – 1967 and remained on reserve status for another year.

Jim returned home and married Petronella “Pat” Schukis on May 28, 1967.

Jim was a machinist for 40 years. Upon retirement, Jim began volunteering for the Albany chapter of Habitat for Humanity. When not building homes, he enjoyed fishing, camping, and traveling.

Jim succumbed to metastatic pancreatic cancer on February 7, 2019.

Jim is survived by his wife, Pat; daughter, Debra Lamp of Salem; as well as his two sisters, Doris Friday (Walt) of Salem and Judith Lamp of Hillsboro.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; and son, Jeffrey Lamp.

A private burial will be held at Oakville Cemetery.

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at the Hope Church in Albany.
