Oct. 2, 1953 - Feb. 10, 2012
Jack Jean Brookins, 58, of Albany passed away Friday, Feb. 10, at Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital.
Jack was born in Salinas, Calif. He spent his early years living in several states and overseas while his father was in the Army. Jack graduated from Middletown High School in 1972. In 1975, he moved to Albany and had lived here ever since.
Jack began working in the construction industry at Golden West Homes. He continued on to work at Casey Industrial, KBI and Jeff King Contractors as the tool and equipment manager.
Jack enjoyed riding his Harley, barbequing, trying out the latest recipe and lounging in his chair with his dogs on his days off. He loved animals and kids. Jack made his friends his family. He was loved by everyone because he would do anything for anyone; if anyone needed anything, they would call Jack. All of his friends loved him for his big heart and sense of humor.
Jack was preceded in death by his father, Frank; brother Jon; aunt Ida; and uncle Lamar.
Survivors include his long-time companion, Cala Poirier; stepson Ben Wilson; Cala's children, Josi Winkler and Ryan Poirier; grandkids Megan, Jacob and Dakota, and was looking forward to his unborn grandchild; many nieces and nephews; and beloved doxies Dexter and Dewey.
A celebration of life will be on March 10. An announcement of the location and time will be announced at a later date.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Heart Association or SafeHaven Humane Society.
