Donald E. Immel, 59, of Lebanon passed away Wednesday at his home.
He was born in Lebanon to Gail and Norma Jean (Ridinger) Immel. Don lived in Lebanon his whole life. He graduated from Lebanon Union High School, and in later life attended Linn-Benton Community College and Chemeketa Community College.
Don married the love of his life, Connie Cain, in 1999. Together they raised their children. He worked for the Linn County Road Department for many years as a heavy equipment operator. After retirement, Don enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and put his energy into his small ranch, raising registered Angus cattle with his wife, Connie, until losing his battle with cancer.
Don loved hunting and hunted elk every year. He also enjoyed roping in his younger years.
He is survived by his wife, Connie of Lebanon; father Gail Immel of Lebanon; children Amber Britton and husband Alvin of Lebanon, Jennifer Cain and significant other Jasper Rose of Lebanon, Kyle Immel of Eugene and Garrett Immel of Lebanon; brothers Richard Immel and wife Sheila of Crawfordsville, and Ronnie Immel and wife Sue of Lebanon; sisters Sallie Honeywell and significant other Steve Carpenter of Lebanon, and Renae Paetsch and husband Jeff of Lebanon; and eight grandchildren.
Don was preceded in death by his mother, Norma Jean Immel.
Viewing will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 27, at Huston-Jost Funeral Home. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, June 29, at the Sodaville Evangelical Church.
