Dave passed away while vacationing in Maui, Hawaii.
Dave was born in Santa Rosa, California to Charles C. Heinle and Meredith McCloskey Heinle. He grew up in Santa Rosa and moved to Arcata, California in 1970.
While in elementary school, Dave learned to play the clarinet, and played in every school band after that. He especially enjoyed his high school band.
Dave graduated Arcata High School in 1973 and studied for a couple of years at Humboldt State University. He was the manager at Tom’s Sourdough Pizza in Eureka, California from 1976 — 1979.
Dave moved to Corvallis in 1980 when he started working for Burger King where he remained for 30 years. He became Director of Operations. He moved to Salem in 1983.
After his retirement, Dave began volunteering at the Salem Hospital, which he really enjoyed doing. Dave is survived by two sisters; Susan E. Louk of Albany and Carol Lang of Eureka; brother-in-law, Howard Lang of Eureka; brother, Jim Heinle of San Francisco; nieces, Katie Louk of Corvallis and Lindsey Louk of Albany; nephew, Marcus Louk of Albany; five great-nephews, Colton, Baron, Grafton, Maser and Bosco Louk of Albany. He is also survived by a group of loving, caring friends.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents; and grandparents.
A celebration of his life will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday February 8, 2018 at AAsum-Dufour Funeral Home.
