Clyde Montgomery was born to C.R. and Bessie Montgomery in Tangent.

He died of cancer on January 20, at Samaritan Evergreen Hospice House in Albany.

He married Claudette Cunningham in 1950, and they farmed in the Tangent - Shedd area for over 50 years. Clyde and Claudette enjoyed wintering in Arizona where they fished and travelled. Clyde also participated in weekly Jeep trips with friends. Family and friends visited them there often.

Clyde was a friend to many, and was loved by his family.

In addition to Claudette, Clyde is survived by daughters, Sharla (Norman) Younger, and Dawn Montgomery Aldridge (Mark.) He is also survived by grandchildren, Cody (Nicole) Younger, Kjerstine (Chris) Vachter, Kacie (Levi) Wahl, Forrest (Vanessa) Johnson, Alex (Rachael) Johnson; step-grandchildren, Keely, Tanner, and Kelby Aldridge; and nine great-grandchildren. Brothers Merle, of Florida, Sonny, of Independence, and, sister Geneva LeCoe of Eugene also survive.

Clyde was preceeded in death by son, Vernon; sister, Betty; and brother, Robert.

An open house will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, February 17 at Montgomery Farms, 32410 Hwy 99E, Tangent. Remarks will begin at 2:30.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Samaritan Evergreen Hospice, SafeHaven Humane Society, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
