Charles “Chuck” Mullenix, 72, of Lebanon passed away Wednesday at the Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center.
Chuck was born in Chicog, Wis., the son of Archibald and Lila (Christenson) Mullenix. He moved to Lebanon in the early 1950s where he went to school. As a teen, he worked in a small sawmill which his father owned near Corvallis. He worked as a logger throughout Linn County for over 25 years. Chuck worked for Linn County Road Department as a grader operator for 14 years, retiring in 2001.
Chuck was a member of the Lebanon First Assembly of God Church and the Lebanon Moose Lodge. He loved fishing, hunting, cutting firewood, doing carpentry and cabinet work. He served on the Sodaville City Council for over 20 years and as the mayor for 10 years.
Chuck married Sharon Teigen on Sept. 1, 1959, in Lebanon.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Bertha and Patricia; brother Dave; and grandson Jared.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sharon of Lebanon; son Danny Albert and wife Kimberly Mullenix of Lebanon; grandchildren Elisha Dawson of Ketchikan, Alaska, and John Ryan Mullenix of Lebanon; brothers Ronald of Salem, and Art and Butch Mullenix, both of Lebanon; sisters Kathleen Brown and Carol Cottrell, both of Lebanon; and many nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 12, at Huston-Jost Funeral Home. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13, at the Lebanon First Assembly of God Church. Burial will follow in the Lebanon IOOF Cemetery.
