Richard Allen Casad

March 11, 1937 — Sept. 21, 2011

Rev. Richard Allen Casad, 74, of Medford, formally of Albany, died Wednesday at his home.

Richard leaves his wife of 53 years, Sandy; four daughters, Donna Binkley, Linda Cramer and Patti Casad of Medford, and Susan Kroeker of Bend; three sons-in-law, Don Binkley, Joe Cramer and Jeff Kroeker; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister Gloria McDowell of Queen Creek, Ariz.; sister-in-law Pat Morris of Whittier, Calif.; and many, many dear friends.

He pastored churches in Jewell, Ore., Deer Park, Wash., and Albany. He served in the US Navy for six years.

His wife says he had the heart of a lamb and the courage of a lion. He never raised his voice when he preached but his passion for Christ and the Word of God was felt deeply by all who had an ear to hear. It was because of his open heart to God that the gentle spirit of the Lord called many to the saving grace of God.

His desire upon his death was not he, but God be glorified and praised!

A private family service was held at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30, at the VA National Cemetery in Eagle Point with full military honors.
