In the 2013 Legislative session, the Oregon State Legislature passed House Bill 2708, creating roadside highway memorial signs to recognize fallen heroes, which includes Marine Lance Cpl. Tyler Troyer and Army Spc. Eric McKinley of the mid-valley.

At 3:30 p.m. on Monday, April 28, there will be a ceremony honoring Troyer and McKinley at the American Legion, 1215 Pacific Blvd. S.E., Albany.

Following the ceremony, the signs recognizing Troyer and McKinley will be erected on Highway 34.

The families invite anyone who would like to participate in this special event honoring fallen soldiers to attend.
