A 2-year-old girl who fell out of a third-story apartment window on Sunday morning was discharged from Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital on Monday morning, a hospital spokesman said.

Lebanon Police Department responded to a report of the fall at 10 a.m. on Sunday in the 700 block of North Seventh Street, according to police logs.

Medics from the Lebanon Fire District also responded and took the child to the hospital.

The father of the girl told police that the toddler and her 4-year-old brother were playing together in their room when the boy came out screaming. The dad quickly discovered that the girl had fallen out of her third-story bedroom window, police logs state.

According to the report, the dad had been watching television and the mother was in the bathroom at the time of the fall.

According to police logs, the window was open but the latch for it was still locked. The father said that the screen had been in place prior to the incident, and a rocking chair had been moved close to the window, possibly by one of the children.

Calls to Lebanon fire and police about the incident weren’t returned on Monday afternoon.
