Lebanon firefighters were dispatched Friday afternoon to a fire that caused heavy damage to a vacant house in the 700 block of South Eighth Street.
Firefighters at the station responded to the first shortly after 4 p.m. after noticing a column of black smoke rising from the single-story structure.
"We were there in about 90 seconds," said battalion Chief Tim Moore.
No injuries were reported. It is not known if the structure was inhabited.
Six units and 12 firefighters responded to the fire, and after 20 minutes the fire was stopped, with minor damage to neighboring houses. Preliminary damage estimates were not available.
The house sustained what Moore described as "heavy damage."
Officials are still investigating the cause.
