Injury wreck — 10:44 a.m. Feb. 2, 1400 block of Waverly Drive. A Chevrolet Impala making a right turn onto 14th Avenue from Waverly struck a bicyclist in the crosswalk. The rider, Patricia Reilly, 49, was taken to Samaritan Albany General Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The driver, Jennifer Loyd, 37, was cited for operating without driving privileges.

Burglary — 12:13 p.m. Feb. 2, 900 block of Waverly Drive SE. A woman contacted police to say she saw a man crawl through a window at her residence. The man opened a bedroom door, saw her and fled. Police took a report.

Burglary — 10:55 a.m. Sunday, 1955 Cedar Circle SE. Taken from a residence in the area: an Xbox and a pump shotgun.

Injury wreck — 7:17 p.m. Sunday, intersection of Hill Street and Queen Avenue. A Chevrolet pickup headed east on Queen made a left-hand turn and was struck by a Ford Taurus headed west. The driver of the pickup, Nathan Corneliusen, was cited for making a dangerous left turn. The driver of the Taurus, Troy Dean Shanks, went to Samaritan Albany General Hospital and was cited later for driving under the influence of intoxicants and driving while suspended.

Arrest — Monday, 2600 block of Pacific Boulevard Southwest; 410 Airport Road SE. David Curtis Paul, 28, was arrested on charges of delivering cocaine, delivering heroin and possession of cocaine.

Injury wreck — 8:46 a.m. Monday, intersection of Waverly Drive and Santiam Highway. Police responded to a report of a semi and sports utility vehicle collision, with injuries reported. Information was not yet available Tuesday.


Stolen vehicle — 2:17 p.m. Sunday, 44000 block of West McCully Mountain Drive. A 1988 Toyota Camry was reported stolen. 

Assault — 10:10 p.m. Sunday, 6000 block of Northeast Coquille Court. An attendee at a Super Bowl party reported being "sucker-punched" by a person who allegedly hit the victim four times and caused him to need stitches to his left eye area. Deputies are continuing the investigation.


Highway closed — 8:22 a.m. Tuesday, intersection of Highway 226 and Jordan Road, seven miles west of Lyons. Oregon State Police troopers responded to a report of a log truck that overturned trying to navigate a corner and struck a power pole. Drive Raymond Lewis Smith, 59, was not injured, but the road was shut down overnight while the Oregon Department of Transportation and tow truck crews worked to clear the area.

Arrest — 3:34 p.m. Saturday, Sweet Home. Troopers located a male with an outstanding warrant. Joshua Wayne Welch, 29, was arrested on a Sweet Home municipal warrant for failure to comply on an original charge of giving false information to police.


Disturbance — 3:14 a.m. Saturday, 4300 Long Street. Police responded to a report of two males fighting. Justin Ray Nicholson, 23, was charged with fourth-degree assault and strangulation, and an outstanding circuit court warrant for possession of a controlled substance.

Theft — 8:50 a.m. Feb. 2, 3000 block of Main Street. Hoy's Ace Hardware Inc. reported an overnight break-in with an estimated $784 in stolen property and $5,000 in damage. The investigation is continuing.
