Members of the East Albany Lions Club and several city officials gathered Monday morning at Timber-Linn Memorial Park for a groundbreaking ceremony.

The park will be the new home of the annual Lumberjack Breakfast. The club is constructing a storage building near a shelter that will house the club’s many grills and other equipment.

For 53 years the breakfast was held at Eleanor Hackleman Park.

The expense to renovate or build a new structure at the park was too high, so after conversations with the city, the club decided to move to Timber-Linn.
