Parks & Rec to offer beginning strings class

The Albany Parks & Recreation Department is offering a class in beginning strings. Instructor is Kim Collar.

Collar will teach the basics of playing violin, viola, cello, or bass in a low-stress group setting. The class is suitable for both beginners and returning players, age 16 and older, and no auditions or solos are required. Information about renting or purchasing instruments will be provided at registration.

Class will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, June 17 through Aug. 21, at the Albany Senior Center, 489 Water Ave. N.W. No classes are scheduled July 1, July 3, Aug. 5 or Aug. 7.

Cost is $86 for Albany residents or $111 for those who live outside the Albany city limits.
