Andy Landforce, from Corvallis, says he sat on the bench for the Oregon State's 1942 Rose Bowl team, watches this year's team practice Tuesday afternoon at Prothro field. Landforce said he has held Beaver season tickets since 1953 and hardly missed a scrimmage since then.

Corvallis Parks Operation Specialist and certified arborist Becky Merja, cuts a limb off of a black walnut tree located on Highway 99W at the off ramp to Philomath Boulevard. The 125 year old tree had a limb that was threatening it's health.

Geoff Laird, working for the state's forestry department in Philomath, uses a drip-torch to light brush near the historic site of Fort Hoskins in Kings Valley. State and county agencies cooperated in efforts to return native trees and grasses to the area destined to become a county park.
