CASCADIA — The Linn County Sheriff’s Office and Sweet Home Fire & Ambulance responded to a single-vehicle accident at Highway 20 milepost 48 near Cascadia on Wednesday morning.

According to a Fire District spokesperson, a 50-year-old woman from Sisters fell asleep while driving at about 7:23 a.m. Her vehicle went off the roadway and ended up sliding against a mountain wall with the front of the vehicle face downward toward the highway.

When the ambulance team arrived, the woman had exited the vehicle and was sitting in a passerby’s vehicle. The ambulance crew transported her to the Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital, for the treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
