KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Some players celebrate winning the Super Bowl by going to Disney World. Kansas City Chiefs defensive lineman Derrick Nnadi had something else in mind.

After the Chiefs beat the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LIV Sunday, Nnadi paid for the adoption fees for every dog at KC Pet Project, an animal shelter in Kansas City. Now, every dog that is available for adoption at the shelter can go home with a family for free.

According to the KC Pet Project website, the shelter cares for “over 10,000 animals a year" and works "collaboratively with animal control and other animal welfare organizations to increase the number of homeless pets adopted.”

It’s not the first time Nnadi has donated to the shelter. This pro football season, Nnadi has sponsored the adoption fee for one dog after each Chiefs win.

“The perfect way to cap off this great season!” Nnadi posted on Twitter.

"All my life I always wanted a dog," Nnadi told CNN. "Growing up I didn't have a pet, my parents didn't really allow pets."

But going into his senior year of college, Nnadi got his first dog, Rocky. And the love between them inspired him to help other animals.

"When I first got him, he was very timid," Nnadi said. "It made me think of how other animals, whether they're owned or in a shelter, are feeling scared and alone."

So in his second year in the NFL, he partnered with the KC Pet Project.

CNN contributed to this report.
