Sunday worship: Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, 2650 NW Highland Drive in Corvallis, shares God's Word and Holy Communion both in its sanctuary and via live-stream worship at 9 a.m. Sunday.

Pastor Eric Bohlmann’s sermon theme will be “The Better Way Is Toward Our Neighbors.”

The congregation continues to follow Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines to protect worshipers’ health, and asks people to wear masks. Live-stream worship is accessible at www.svlccorvallis.org and facebook.com/shepherdcorvallis.

Multi-Gen Bible study follows the worship service at 10:30 a.m., both in church and via Zoom. This week’s study will focus on the Gospel according to Mark, Chapter 9. For access to the Zoom meeting, call the church office at 541-753-2816.

Service in the park: Several Corvallis congregations will come together to celebrate unity at a worship service set for 10 a.m. Sunday at the gazebo in Central Park, 650 NW Monroe Ave.

The annual Labor Day in the Park service, a tradition dating back almost 30 years, will feature a music ensemble. The Revs. Jen Butler, Matt Gordon, Matt Gough and Linda Tucker will lead worship.

Participants are advised to bring a chair or blanket. Masks are required.

The service can be watched online at https://www.facebook.com/CorvallisFUMC/live.

Baha'i devotions and discussion: “Faith for Rights” is set for 10:30 a.m. Sunday online.

A #StopHatePropaganda campaign calling on Iran’s government to end more than 40 years of government-sponsored hate speech against the country’s Bahá’ís is drawing unprecedented support from a global coalition of government officials, leaders of thought, civil society organizations, activists, religious leaders, artists, prominent Iranians and others, reaching more than 88 million people as it trends around the world. Sunday’s multi-faith selection of sacred texts again calls to mind the ancient responsibility of the faithful to address the welfare of the world. All are welcome to participate in fellowship, readings and discussion.

Zoom instructions for the meeting and readings can be found on the local Baha'i website: https://linnbenton.local.bahai.us/. Those who need help or have questions can call 541-753-5752.

Women's group: After 5 Connection, affiliated with Stonecroft, will present "Healthy Habits" at 6 p.m. Sept. 14 at Ma's Restaurant, 2416 S. Santiam Highway in Lebanon.

The dinner and program are open to all women.

Becky McMahon of Albany, a certified health and wellness coach, will give a program including tips on getting and staying healthy. Jen Justus of Lebanon will sing. Pat Abernathy of Madras will present "Close Calls," a program on some of her hair-raising adventures.

Cost of the event is $15 inclusive (not credit-card ready). Reservations are available at 541-258-6414 or NancyPinzino@comcast.net.
