An exhibit featuring artwork by Rosalie Lingo, winner of The Arts Center's Student Award for Excellence in 2017, will be on display from May 5 to June 2 in the Corrine Woodman Gallery, 700 SW Madison Ave., Corvallis.
"A Conversation from Corrine Woodman Gallery" featuring Lingo will be held at noon Friday, May 18.
Lingo specializes in figurative drawing and painting, drawing inspiration from her personal encounters. Working mainly in mixed media, Lingo attempts to process the realities of her life, coming to terms with being a member of the LGBT community, struggling with anxiety and depression, and navigating the dynamics of poverty.
Lingo graduated with an associate’s degree from Linn-Benton Community College in 2016 and will graduate with a BFA in applied visual arts from Oregon State University in 2018. After graduation, she intends to pursue a career in the creative field.
The Arts Center is open Tuesday through Saturday, noon to 5 p.m. For more information, see theartscenter.net.
