  • 0

CORVALLIS - Block 15 Restaurant and Brewery's "Bloktoberfest" celebration will be held, rain or shine, from 2 to 11 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, under a big tent on the corner of Fourth Street and Jefferson Avenue (just down the block from the brewpub).

The event will feature live music including traditional German music from The Guten Zeiten Band led by Darlene Ryan on accordion at 2 p.m. (above), bluegrass by Wild Hog in the Woods at 5:30 p.m. and sea shanties by Mill About Smartly at 8 p.m.

Food offerings will include hand-made German sausages from The Pepper Tree, veggie sausages, giant beer pretzels and barbecue chicken quarters.

Oktoberfest Marzen lager and other Block 15 ales along with local wines will be on tap, as well as fresh hop ale from Oakshire brewing. House-brewed root beer will be available for the kids and designated drivers. Authentic half- and one-litre tankards with the Bloktoberfest logo will be for sale.

A "Dunk A Brewer" dunk tank will be set up to benefit the Benton Food Share. A canned donation will get you a ball to throw, or $1 per ball.

Admission is $5. Information: 758-2077 or www.block15.com.
