ALBANY — The Linn-Benton women's basketball team bounced back from a tough week to take an 83-68 win over Chemeketa at LBCC.

The Roadrunners (7-9, 2-2) trailed Chemeketa in the first quarter but worked their way back and took control.

"We got over the hump and worked our way back and that was a big turning point for us because we had a really rough week last week just competing," LBCC coach Debbie Herrold said.

Madeline Oakden had 21 points to lead the Roadrunners and Kelsie Henry had 14 points and seven rebounds.

LBCC plays at Clackamas on Wednesday.

Men

Linn-Benton overcame a big deficit in the second half to take an 82-79 NWAC home win over Chemeketa.

The Roadrunners (12-5, 2-2) trailed by 17 points with 12 minutes, 25 seconds to go.

"So we staged quite a rally," LBCC coach Everett Hartman said. "We started playing aggressively and attacking the basket."

Bailey Evers led LBCC with 23 points and hit three 3s and made one conventional three-point play during the run.

The Roadrunners also hit 21 of 27 free throws in the second half.

LBCC plays at Clackamas on Wednesday.
