SAN DIEGO — The Oregon State softball team ended on a high note at the San Diego Classic, knocking off Boston University and University of San Diego.

The Beavers improved to 13-8 overall this season; finish the San Diego Classic 3-2.

The Beavers started fast in the first game of the day, a 4-1 win over Boston. Shelby Week's sacrifice fly put the Beavers up 1-0 in the first.

Tied at 1-1, the Beavers scored three times in the third to take the lead for good.

Nerissa Eason (1-0) notched her first win of the season, tossing a complete game while striking out three batters.

Against San Diego, a 5-1 win, the Beavers scored three in the first and two in the second to take control.

Mariah Mazon (5-4) tossed a  complete game, striking out five batters.

Weeks had an RBI and Missy Nunes drove in two in the first. McKenna Ariola and Weeks had RBIs in the second.

San Diego broke the shutout in the sixth inning behind a fielding error from the Beavers defense.

Oregon State is set to compete at the CSUN Tournament on March 9-11. The Beavers open up against Seattle at 10:30 a.m. on Friday.
