Oregon State junior infielder Nick Madrigal and sophomore left-handed pitcher Jake Mulholland have been named National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association preseason All-Americans, the publication announced on Monday.

Madrigal was named the first-team second baseman while Mulholland is a reliever on the second team.

Madrigal, the reigning Pac-12 player and defensive player of the year, batted .380 with 22 doubles, 40 RBIs and 16 stolen bases.

The preseason selection is Madrigal's fourth so far. He has also been recognized by Collegiate Baseball, Baseball America D1Baseball.com.

The honor is the second for Mulholland. He was recognized as an honorable mention selection by Collegiate Baseball in December.

Mulholland was a Pac-12 honorable mention recipient in 2017 after leading the Beavers with six saves. He had a 7-1 record and 1.20 ERA in his first season in Corvallis. Opponents batted just .183 against him while Mulholland struck out 44 to 12 walks in 52⅓ innings.
