The regional agency that provides services for senior citizens and people with disabilities will have a new director after the first of the year.

Dave Toler will become director of Senior and Disability Services with the Oregon Cascades West Council of Governments starting in early January, the council announced.

Senior and Disability Services is the Area Agency on Aging for Linn, Benton and Lincoln counties. It provides financial, medical and long-term care services for senior citizens and people with disabilities, including adult protective services, Senior Meals, Meals on Wheels, Benton County Veterans Services and the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program.

Toler has held a similar position with the Rogue Valley Council of Governments for the past three and a half years. He currently serves on the Governor’s Home Care Commission and the executive board of the Oregon Association of Area Agencies on Aging and Disabilities.

Toler replaces Scott Bond, who is retiring after 17 years with the council, including almost 12 years as head of Senior and Disability Services.
