Academy re-accredits sleep center 

Samaritan Sleep Center in North Albany recently was re-accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine for providing quality patient care.

Additionally, the sleep center has earned accreditation by the academy as a home sleep apnea testing facility.

The American Academy of Sleep Medicine ensures excellence in health care and the importance of sleep as an element of health, public safety and the quality of life.

Samaritan Sleep Center provides many diagnostic and treatment services, including overnight and daytime sleep studies, home sleep testing, actigraphy, pulse-oximetry and CPAP titration. Specialized services, including neurodiagnostic testing and electroencephalograms are also available.

The center, which opened at the North Albany location in 2016, has 14 beds, with improved accommodations and private rooms for optimal comfort.

The center also offers at-home testing for sleep apnea, a condition that can put people at risk for other chronic diseases caused by disrupted sleep, including hypertension, heart disease and dementia.

Credit union has financial office 

Maps Credit Union recently opened a Maps Investment Services department office in Corvallis.

A team of employees new to the credit union is staffing the office, which is at 2350 NW Century Drive, Suite 220.

The Corvallis team of CFS advisors and support staff consists of Barbara Koontz, financial advisor; Greg Elker, financial advisor; Kyle King, associate financial advisor; Misty Presley, financial assistant; Adam Peck, financial assistant; and Kirsten Allam, receptionist.

Broker joins realty agency

Jodi Elliott recently joined Town & Country Realty in Corvallis as a broker.

A native of Kalamazoo, Michigan, Elliott moved to Corvallis last fall after living in Stockholm, Sweden, for nearly four years. She earned a bachelor’s degree in anthropology at the University of Virginia before spending a year with AmeriCorps and traveling in Europe. She also has lived in Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, and Princeton, New Jersey.

Insurance agency wins award

Barker-Uerlings Insurance recently announced its Life & Health team has attained status in the Elite Circle of Champions with Healthcare.gov for 2018.

This is due to the company’s performance in helping hundreds of local individuals and families in their health plan decisions during open enrollment for 2018.
