Kang and her fellow pre schoolers from Grant Avenue Baptist Preschool spent part of the morning watching the sheep at Oregon State University Sheep Barns. The spring ritual brings hundreds of kids out to the barns to look at the new born lambs in early March of 2001.

Cheryl E. Allison leads the Inner Strength Gospel Choir in the song "Siyahamba" during a kick off meeting for the Community Alliance for Diversity Study Circles program Thursday morning. The Study Circles allow people to encourage greater diversity and acceptance of cultural and racial difference.

Western View middle school students watch as substitute teacher Chris Allen gets his head shaved during a school assembly rewarding students for collecting $2,107 for Dornbecher Children's Hospital in Portland. Six male teachers agreed to shave their heads or beards if the kids met their fundraising goal.

Ryan Kennedy a sixth grader at Highland View Middle School swims with Adaptive PE teach Aleita Hass-Holcomb Tuesday at Osborn Aquatic Center. Students and teachers at Highland View worry that if a new middle school is built at Western View they will lose their access to activities at the pool and the near by Boys and Girls club.
